This painting is loved by many who followed its creation on facebook and instagram and purchased prints and greeting cards to hang on their wall or send to their friends. It is the top selling print and greeting card in my inventory. There are no full sized duplicates of this painting on canvas. I do not sell full sized prints and I do not sell prints on canvas. I do not paint duplicate original paintings or paint embellishments on prints. There is not another painting like this one in the world, and it could be yours, because it is still available!
The painting is 30 inches tall by 40 inches wide on gallery wrapped canvas. It comes with a removable half inch black floater frame. Shipping and Tax are included in the price. The painting comes with the story about the painting, and the artist statement for the "Just For Fun" Art Show. There is a signature on the front of the painting, the piece is also signed on the back with the name of the painting, date of completion, and a stamp of Leah's actual finger print.
When you buy a painting from this site, you are buying directly from me, the artist, Leah Kiser. Your purchase helps keep my business operational, and helps me keep painting more work like this.
The Story Behind This Painting:
At the very first art show that I participated in, someone requested that I paint some Jackalopes. I thought about it for a long time, and decided to put the idea aside for a little while to work on the dinosaurs and octopus ideas that I already had going. Then about 3 years later, I was at another art fair just daydreaming, and the idea of putting different antlers on jackrabbits came to mind. I laughed out loud... and then I thought "Wait! There are a lot of different breeds of rabbit that I can use too!" When I got home, I started matching rabbit breeds with antlers, and giggled to myself about putting them all together in a painting majestically like you would find in a nature or science book complete with breed names:
Rare Albino Belgian Hare Reindeerlope, English Angora Ramalope, Flemish Giant Moosealope, Holland Lopalope, Lion Head Buckalope, Netherland Dwarfalope, and the Common Jackalope.
So many people love this painting. It is my best seller for prints by far, and even though I painted it before I started planning the "Just for Fun" series, it fit with the idea of imaginative paintings done in a realistic style, and I decided to include it in the show.
This painting is one of five paintings included in the "Just For Fun" Show - A collection of paintings done in an imaginative realist style. It was my first virtual art show. The show includes a video that you can find on youtube. The initial gallery show was canceled due to Covid, so I decided to show the series on my own online.
